Copyright when uploading to dCOBISS
The dCOBISS repository, contains various data and digital content connected to the record from the COBIB database. A publication in dCOBISS consists of the bibliographic description of material and licensing data, access restrictions (embargo), versions and dates of publication. Digital content (files) can also be added to such a publication. The Institute of Information Science (IZUM), which manages the dCOBISS repository, requests the librarians who upload digital content to fully comply with copyright and related rights according to the Copyright and Related Rights Act (ZASP, Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No 16/07 – official consolidated version, 68/08, 110/13, 56/15, 63/16 – ZKUASP and 59/19) as well as all others legal acts in force in the Republic of Slovenia.
In case of a dispute regarding copyright and related rights due to the digital content added to a bibliographic description, the person who added the digital content into the dCOBISS repository has sole responsibility. Consequently, this person must make a statement that they are the author of the content of the file added or that they have made a relevant agreement with the copyright holder to add the file into dCOBISS.
If any owner of the copyright on the digital content disputes its addition to the dCOBISS repository and cannot reach agreement about its removal, they may request its removal from IZUM with a letter sent to the address of Prešernova 17, 2000 Maribor, Slovenia or by sending an e-mail to podpora@izum.si A credible proof of authorship or of copyright ownership must be attached to the request. If copyright ownership is appropriately proved, IZUM will disable further display of the digital content in the dCOBISS repository presumably within 15 days and permanently remove the content from the dCOBISS repository within 60 days after the receipt of a credible proof of copyright ownership.
