RFID scanners
at the lending desk
Full integration of a RFID scanner at the lending desk with the COBISS3/Loan software module (scanning the material, setting material protection, etc.) is enabled through a special interface implemented by the supplier. The integration with the COBISS3/Loan software module is direct and full with the application software. The use of indirect modes of integration offered by suppliers is not advisable.
Devices using the
SIP2 protocol
The data between devices for automated loan (self-checkout, lending kiosks, material sorting devices, sensor gates, units for RFID label creation, etc.) with the COBISS3/Loan software module is transferred via the SIP2 protocol.
Installing the COBISS IO application
To use peripheral devices in COBISS Lib such as printers, RFID panels, cash drawer, etc., the library must install the COBISS IO application. This enables communication between the COBISS Lib application and peripheral devices. It is also required for tax verification of invoices. You can find more information about the COBISS IO and COBISS Lib services at the link. The COBISS IO application installation process and editing settings are described in the instructions Installing COBISS IO.
